‘Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer’ - Is the Church an Island of Misfit Toys?
Hello and welcome to Pop Culture Redemption, a show that is dedicated to helping the church have a better vision of God at work in pop culture. Today we’re hitting rewind and looking at a Christmas classic, the 1964 claymation special “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.” While only having a runtime of 55 minutes, this one gave us a lot to discuss from a Christian perspective. We had a good time.
Couple Big Picture PopCR things:
1) Seats for our Live Show on Friday, January 17th in McPherson are now available for reservation on our Patreon! More info like time and location can be found there as well.
2) We’re sad to announce that today’s episode will be Jordan’s last for the foreseeable future. With our full support, Jordan came to the conclusion that for the season of life he is in currently, it would be best for him to take an indefinite break. Obviously, Jordan is a founding member of Pop Culture Redemption and is a critical part of what we’ve been able to create and build over the last year+. We do have one more special sendoff Podcast recording that Jacob and I have planned with Jordan, which we were going to bring to you today before illness rocked our boat a bit. So you’ve got that to look forward to. Jordan, thank you for who you are, the faithful hours and dreaming you’ve put into this thing called Pop Culture Redemption, and for your continued friendship. This show wouldn’t be here today without you buddy.
So, here’s to one more pod with Jordan on the crew. We bring you Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer.
